Sleeping in Makeup
Although makeup is a beautiful form of art, it may be the cause of enlarged pores on the skin. Sleeping in makeup can increase inflammation on the skin, and also cause the skin to produce extra oil overnight. Over time, this can cause our pores to become enlarged, and also lead to breakouts and acne on the skin. Before going to sleep, it is crucial to remove all makeup from the face; this step can be done by using a makeup wipe, followed by a cleanser to ensure that all makeup is removed from the face.
Lack of Cleansing
Research has found that cleansing the facial area is essential to prevent enlarged pores. When the face has excessive oils, dirt, and impurities, this can cause the pores to become enlarged. It is necessary to cleanse the face at least twice a day depending on your skin type to help prevent enlarged pores from developing.
Furthermore, exfoliation is vital to help remove dead skin cells from the skin. Studies suggest that exfoliating the skin can help unclog enlarged pores, and reduce elevated levels of inflammation that contributes to clogged pores. Making exfoliation a part of your skincare routine ultimately helps promote healthy balanced skin.
